Title: SAS Data Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (Downtown)

Work Model: Hybrid (3 Days/Week Onsite)

Employment Type: 3 Months Contract

Support EDW migration at Scotiabank through SAS technical data analysis and convert existing SAS workloads to PySpark on the target Databricks data platform.

EDW Technical Data Analysis: Analyze EDW tables, data structures, dependencies, volumes, history, and usage patterns.

SAS Workload Assessment: Review existing SAS programs, macros, datasets, and dependencies to understand business/technical logic.

SAS-to-PySpark Conversion: Convert SAS transformation and processing logic into PySpark code while maintaining functional equivalence.

Data Mapping & Lineage: Trace source-to-target data flows, transformations, joins, filters, and downstream dependencies across EDW and SAS workloads.

Data Validation & Reconciliation: Perform source-to-target reconciliation and validate converted PySpark outputs against existing SAS/EDW results.

Years of experience: 6 to 9 years of experience preferably banking/financial industry.
