Empower students as a School Liaison Career Practitioner with YMCA Nova Scotia Works in Dartmouth/Cole Harbour. Focus on African Nova Scotian youths through workshops and personalized guidance. In this full-time position, you will work with students in Grades 7–12 at multiple high schools, providing vital career development services.
Your responsibilities will include facilitating workshops for students and their families, assisting Grade 12 students in connecting to resources, and managing statistics in the designated database. You will also collaborate closely with school administration to deliver on-site programming, ensuring that students' needs are continually met. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and support students in career development
- Facilitate workshops for students and parents/guardians
- Connect Grade 12 students with case managers
- Provide employment resources to remove barriers
- Submit monthly reports and monitor service effectiveness Requirements:
- Knowledge of career development services
- Connection to African Nova Scotian communities
- Degree in human services field or relevant experience
