Senior Analyst – Consumer Insolvency (Estate Administration)

Faber Inc.– Licensed Insolvency Trustees - Edmonton, AB (in-office)

Full-time, permanent - $58,000 to $75,000 a year plus annual bonus · No insolvency experience required — we train you

Faber Inc.has been helping Albertans resolve debt since 1997. We are Licensed Insolvency Trustees with offices across the province, and we are hiring a Senior Analyst for our Consumer Debt Solutions team in Edmonton.

You will manage your own portfolio of personal bankruptcy and consumer proposal files from the hand-off by the Trustee following file activation with the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (“OSB”) to the clients discharge from bankruptcy or the proposal full performance — and you will meet the clients behind those files, because you will deliver their mandatory financial counselling sessions yourself.

What you'll do

- Manage and administer personal bankruptcy and consumer proposal files under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (“BIA”) and OSB directives
- Meet with clients to deliver their mandatory financial counselling sessions
- Review and verify client’s monthly income and expense statements, creditor unsecured and secured claims
- Manage asset verification, realization and preservation
- Prepare accurate, informative, well-written reports and correspondence for clients, creditors, the Court and the OSB
- Review the work performed by our Analysts and keep files current, accurate and audit-ready

What we're looking for

- A post-secondary degree in accounting, business, finance or a related field
- Experience in accounting, banking, finance or other professional services environment
- Solid written and verbal English communication, and plain-language explanation skills
- Composure and a non-judgmental manner with people under real financial stress, and absolute discretion with their information
- Strong organization and the ability to meet strict deadlines under a full caseload
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel,

and the confidence to pick up specialized insolvency software
- A valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle for occasional travel between our Edmonton-area offices
- Eligibility to be bonded and a satisfactory criminal record check

No insolvency background? That's fine. Senior Analyst is a rung on our internal ladder, not a demand for years in the industry. Most of our analysts came from accounting, banking or financial services. We train in-house, and we fund the CIRP Qualification Program (CQP) for anyone who wants the path to the CIRP designation and, ultimately, become a Licensed Insolvency Trustee.

What we offer

- $58,000 – $75,000 per year, plus annual bonuses for exceptional performance
- Fully paid benefits package on completion of your three-month probationary period
- A comprehensive health and wellness spending account, plus life and disability insurance fully funded by Faber
- Paid professional courses, registration fees and training
- A defined career path to Licensed Insolvency Trustee
- A stable, independently owned Alberta firm that takes work-life balance seriously
