Role Description The Senior Fabricator is a full time, on-site role based in Dundas, ON, responsible for leading the hands-on production of custom furniture and related components. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting design drawings, planning fabrication steps, selecting materials, and using woodworking and fabrication tools to produce high-quality pieces. The role involves overseeing assembly, finishing, and quality control to ensure all products meet design intent and studio standards.

The Senior

Fabricator will collaborate with designers and other makers, mentor junior team members, maintain a safe and organized workshop,



and contribute to continuous improvement of fabrication processes and techniques.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in furniture fabrication or millwork, including advanced skills in woodworking tools, machinery, and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications, and translate them into precise fabrication steps.
- Proficiency in joinery, assembly, and finishing techniques, with a focus on durability, aesthetics, and consistency.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with designers and production teams.
- Commitment to workshop safety, equipment maintenance, and clean, organized work practices.
- Experience mentoring or guiding other fabricators or apprentices, with a collaborative and respectful approach.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and adaptability when working on custom or experimental designs.
- Relevant trade certification, diploma in woodworking or industrial design, or equivalent practical experience is an asset.
