T&T; Power Group is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to support customers in Vernon and throughout the British Columbia Interior. This role is well suited to a technician who can work independently, take ownership of a regional service territory, and deliver dependable technical service in varied field environments.
The successful candidate must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Vernon, British Columbia, where T&T; Power Group operates a local facility.
What you will do
Travel throughout Vernon and the surrounding BC Interior region to support customer sites.
Perform monthly, semi annual, and annual generator maintenance and inspections in accordance with CSA C282 requirements.
Complete generator load bank testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues involving diesel and natural gas engines, generator controls, DC electrical systems, voltage regulators, automatic transfer switches, switchgear, and related power generation equipment.
Independently attend planned maintenance visits, service calls, and emergency callouts.
Support customers at commercial, industrial, institutional, and remote locations.
Work safely and effectively at remote and challenging sites, including off road locations, mountaintops, rugged terrain, and difficult to access areas.
Safely operate a company service vehicle and tow trailers or other equipment when required.
Complete accurate online service reports and submit required documentation each day.
Communicate professionally with customers, managers, dispatch, and other team members.
Participate in the regional after hours on call rotation.
Travel outside the immediate Vernon area when needed to support customers and operations.
Follow company operating procedures, maintenance programs, and health and safety requirements.
What you bring
Senior level field service experience with standby power generation equipment.
Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and repair complex generator, engine, electrical, and control system issues.
Strong DC electrical diagnostic skills, including experience with generator load testing and voltage regulator diagnostics.
Advanced diagnostic knowledge of electronic and mechanical diesel and natural gas engines.
Working knowledge of automatic transfer switches, switchgear, generator controls, and related systems.
Ability to organize and manage a regional workload with limited direct supervision.
A consistent record of accurate and timely service documentation.
Strong customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Good computer proficiency, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and electronic field service reporting systems.
A solid commitment to teamwork and safe work practices.
Preferred qualifications An electrical trade background, electrician qualification, or strong demonstrated electrical knowledge.
EGSA certification or another relevant trade certification.
Additional requirements
Must be willing and able to relocate to Vernon, British Columbia, if not already located in the area.
Must be comfortable working primarily on the road throughout Vernon and the surrounding BC Interior region.
Must be able to travel to remote, rugged, off road, mountainous, and difficult to access work sites.
Must hold a valid driver's licence, maintain a clean driving record, and provide a current driver's abstract.
Must be able to tow trailers or be willing to complete the required training.
Must be flexible regarding travel, emergency service calls, and changing customer requirements.
Must be available to participate in an after hours on call rotation.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Police, RCMP fingerprinting, or other security checks may be required for certain customer sites.
Schedule and work location
Full time, based from the T&T; Power Group facility in Vernon, British Columbia.
Field based work throughout Vernon and the surrounding BC Interior region.
Monday to Friday, with overtime and emergency availability as required.
Participation in the after hours on call rotation.
Regular regional travel and occasional overnight travel may be required.
Pay: $42.00-$55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
