Senior Information/Records Management Specialist - Contract - 19460

About The Opportunity

Our public sector client requires a Senior Information/Records Management/Recordkeeping Specialist to support a major information lifecycle management modernization initiative.

The successful candidate will conduct research, analysis, requirements definition and options analysis related to records management, recordkeeping, retention, disposition and information governance. The work supports the transition from legacy information management environments to Microsoft 365, Defence 365 and SharePoint Online, with a focus on improving information lifecycle practices, governance and enterprise capabilities.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Review and analyze information management, records management, recordkeeping, retention, disposition, classification and information lifecycle policies, standards, directives, frameworks and guidance

- Research and assess current information lifecycle management practices, including retention and disposition, classification, metadata, systems of record, repositories and SharePoint Online information structures

- Conduct current state assessments and gap analyses to identify risks, dependencies, governance issues and areas for improvement

- Assess the alignment of information holdings, information architectures, legacy repositories and Microsoft 365 environments

- Define and document business requirements related to records retention, disposition, information governance, metadata, classification, auditability, reporting, search, legal hold, eDiscovery and systems of record

- Engage with multiple stakeholder groups to gather requirements, validate findings, identify constraints and support decision making

- Develop and assess options and courses of action addressing policy, process, governance, information architecture, metadata, reporting and user experience requirements





- Assess Microsoft 365 compliance and information governance capabilities and solutions.

- Prepare recommendations, briefing materials, reports, presentations, options analyses and decision support documentation

- Support related Information, Knowledge and Data Management initiatives through research, analysis and documentation

About You The successful candidate will have the following:

- A minimum of 60 months of experience within the last 96 months performing substantive information management, records management, recordkeeping, records retention, records disposition or information lifecycle management responsibilities
- A minimum of 36 months of experience within the last 72 months interpreting, applying, implementing, assessing compliance with or providing advice regarding information management, records management, retention, disposition, classification, metadata or information lifecycle policies, standards, frameworks or guidance
- A minimum of 24 months of experience within the last 72 months conducting current state assessments, gap analyses, requirements analysis, options analysis or recommendations related to information or records management
- A minimum of 24 months of experience within the last 72 months engaging two or more stakeholder groups within the same initiative to gather requirements, validate findings, analyze operational needs or support decision making

- Robust experience working with multiple organizational stakeholders, preferably across five or more distinct stakeholder groups





- Experience with Microsoft 365 compliance and information governance capabilities, ideally including Microsoft Purview Records Management, Purview Data Lifecycle Management, retention labels and policies, disposition review, eDiscovery, Content Search or equivalent enterprise records and compliance tools. Microsoft 365 experience is specifically point rated in the solicitation, with the maximum score awarded for 36 months or more

- Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- A valid Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance

About the Job

- Duration: Contract award through October 31, 2027

- Location: Remote

- Work Environment: Primarily remote or from the consultant's facility. Attendance at client facilities within the National Capital Region may be required periodically

- Hours: Availability is required up to five days per week during core business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. A standard billable day is 7.5 hours
