Responsibilities
Design and develop insulators.
Develop specifications for insulator components (e.g., materials, fittings, rod, primer, rubber,
packaging, and hardware).
Provide support to QA on testing and inspection of insulators.
Provide technical support to Sales &
Marketing on quotes and tenders.
Recommend improvements in the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of insulators.
Solve problems that arise from Manufacturing or Suppliers.
Prepare and conduct electrical and mechanical tests on insulators.
Investigate and resolve customer technical issues.
Assist in the commissioning of recent tools and machinery.
Provide stress analysis on insulators.
Provide technical support and guidance to others in the Engineering Dept.
Check, review, approve drawings, BOM, and other work for the Engineering Dept.

Knowledge &
Skills




Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a requirement.
Capability in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, &
Outlook is a requirement.
PLS CADD/Pole for mechanical analysis of power line structures is an asset.
Familiarity with software development and computer programming ability is an asset.
Presentation &
Verbal Communication Skills
Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training and certification is an asset.

Experience
2 years of engineering experience.

Education
University Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Membership
Valid Skilled Engineer (P. Eng.) license number searchable on Skilled Engineers Ontario (PEO) website is required.
