Key Responsibilities
Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses
Diagnose equipment problems
Respond to breakdowns
Spring and winter maintenance
Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities
Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines
Requirements
Registered Apprentice Mechanic (Automotive or Heavy Duty); 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year levels considered
Transparent criminal record
Own hand tools
Valid driver’s license (Class 2A ideal)
Fluent in written and spoken English
Analytical and troubleshooting skills
Computer proficiency
Some overtime/weekend availability is required based on business needs
