Got a set of wrenches and a knack for keeping equipment running? Scooters Transfer is on the hunt for an Apprentice or Journeyman Mechanic to join our shop crew — whether you're a few hours into your apprenticeship or you've already got your ticket, we want to hear from you.
You'll be turning wrenches on the trucks and trailers that keep our operation moving — real hands-on work, real variety, and a team that'll actually teach you something instead of leaving you to figure it out alone.
What you'll be doing
Getting hands-on with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on our truck & trailer fleet
Cleaning, lubing, and keeping equipment running like it should
Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues before they turn into breakdowns
Testing your own repairs and making sure they meet spec — take pride in the work
Swapping out worn parts and components on everything from hand tools to heavy equipment
Filling out service reports (yes, paperwork's part of it too)
Following Scooters' health & safety program every day, no shortcuts
Working solo when needed, and as part of the crew when it counts
What we're looking for
Registered apprentice (any level)
or Journeyman ticket — we'll consider both
Some welding experience is a plus
Comfortable around diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brakes (or eager to learn the parts you don't know yet)
Valid driver's license and a clean abstract — Class 1 is a bonus
Any extra tickets or safety training? Bring 'em, they count in your favour
A genuine team player who can also get stuff done without someone standing over your shoulder
Good problem-solving instincts and the physical stamina for shop work (lifting up to 50 lbs)
Solid time management and a positive, can-do attitude
Comfortable communicating in English, written and spoken
