is seeking a

Senior Engagement Manager, Public Sector Professional Services

to join their team in

Vancouver, BC . This is a customer-facing role at the intersection of technology strategy and enterprise delivery — the kind of position where your ability to lead complex cloud transformations directly shapes outcomes for public sector clients across Canada.

At its core, this role is about guiding customers through their

digital transformation journeys

using AWS cloud products and services. You'll be orchestrating everything from

Cloud Strategy and Business Case Development

to

On-Premise to Cloud Migrations , working alongside internal AWS teams, external partners, and customer stakeholders to keep engagements on track and on budget.

About the Role: Engagement Manager, Public Sector Professional Services As an Engagement Manager, you'll be responsible for the full project lifecycle — from scoping and governance planning through to delivery and outcomes measurement. You'll collaborate with

AWS field sales, pre-sales, training, and support teams

to understand customer needs and ensure expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Engagements you'll lead include

Cloud Architecture Design and Implementation ,

Cloud Suitability and Migration Assessments , and

Cloud Organisational Alignment

initiatives.

Working in a dynamic, matrixed setting, you'll manage

stakeholder relationships

at every level — from C-suite executives and VPs to project-level subject matter experts. You'll be expected to hold teams accountable, manage risks and dependencies proactively, and adapt your approach to the cultural and operational context of each client. A

flexible work environment

supports your work-life balance, though travel to customer sites may be required periodically as engagements demand.

Benefits and Salary The base salary range for this position is

$99,900 to $166,900 CAD annually , with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location. As a total compensation employer, Amazon's package may also include

sign-on payments

and

Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) . Benefits include

Responsibilities This role spans

delivery management, solutions leadership, and stakeholder communication

across complex, multi-phase cloud engagements. Day-to-day, you'll be managing project schedules, leading cross-functional teams, and keeping both AWS and client stakeholders aligned on goals, timelines, and expectations. Success in this position requires someone who can operate strategically and tactically at the same time.

Plan and manage

all phases of the project lifecycle, including governance plans, project schedules, team goals, milestones, and budgets while defining success criteria

Collaborate

with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training, and support teams to understand customer needs and ensure delivery exceeds expectations

Lead engagement goals

by managing issues, risks, decisions, dependencies, and action items to achieve customers' business outcomes

Work with stakeholders

and AWS sales teams to amend contractual scope, financials, and expected timelines as needed

Hold teams accountable , redirect when necessary, and manage customer expectations throughout the full engagement lifecycle

Analyse project goals

and create actionable plans to guide AWS team members, customer SMEs, and third-party partners toward those goals





Support the sales lifecycle

by engaging clients in defining next phases of cloud projects to meet evolving client needs

Contribute to practice development

through the creation of practical solutions, methodologies, and knowledge-sharing artefacts

Plan and oversee

the preparation and distribution of project communications to stakeholders at all organisational levels

Foster an inclusive

and diverse work environment within all team and client interactions

Requirements / Skills AWS is looking for a candidate who combines

technical acumen

with strong

client-facing leadership skills

and a proven track record of delivering complex IT programmes on time and within budget. You'll thrive here if you're comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing up to executive stakeholders, and driving outcomes across matrixed teams. The ability to obtain a

Canadian federal security clearance

is a requirement for this public sector role.

IT project delivery leadership

— demonstrated experience leading IT projects with external customers

Programme or engagement management

— experience leading other project managers across multiple concurrent projects

Agile team leadership

— experience leading multiple Agile teams (Scrum Masters, Product Owners) concurrently or at scale

IT consulting and transformation

— background in IT consulting or management in a customer-facing role involving IT transformation

Methodology fluency

— experience managing engagements using both Waterfall and Agile/Iterative methodologies

Security clearance eligibility

— ability to obtain Canadian federal security clearance, or a valid Secret or Top Secret clearance

Executive communication

(preferred) — experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT leadership, and lines of business

Cloud and AWS knowledge

(preferred) — familiarity with AWS products, services, pricing, and technical concepts; PMP or equivalent certification is an asset

Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred; ability to obtain Canadian federal security clearance, or valid Secret or Top Secret clearance required
