Our client is a well-established residential builder and developer with a strong presence in the Edmonton market. With a growing pipeline of single-family, duplex, townhome, and multi-family projects, they are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team and support ongoing development activities.

Your New Role

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, the Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing trade pricing, and supporting purchasing activities throughout the construction process. This individual will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining strong relationships with trades, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, budgets, and cost estimates for residential construction projects.
- Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, trade pricing, and cost benchmarks.
- Collaborate with construction, purchasing, and development teams to ensure accurate project costing.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope requirements.
- Issue and track work orders, purchase orders, and change orders as required.
- Monitor market trends, material pricing,



and labor costs to ensure competitive estimates.
- Assist with value engineering initiatives and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support budget reviews and provide reporting to senior management.

What You'll Need to Succeed

- 3+ years of estimating experience within residential construction.
- Experience estimating single-family, townhome, duplex, or multi-family residential projects.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and trade scopes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
- Knowledge of Edmonton and area construction trades and suppliers is considered an asset.
