Serve as a vital Indigenous Student Navigator, ensuring support for Aboriginal students through engagement and outreach initiatives within the community. Collaborate with professionals dedicated to student success.
This position is open to candidates of Aboriginal ancestry and reports directly to the Manager of Indigenous Initiatives and Inclusion. You will work alongside various advisors, including the Aboriginal Student Success Advisor and the Wellness Team, to foster a supportive environment for Indigenous communities and prospective students. Your coordination efforts with Indigenous Liaisons are essential for promoting successful transitions and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate outreach activities with Indigenous communities • Collaborate on initiatives with cultural advisors and wellness teams • Engage prospective students through community networks • Promote Aboriginal Advisory Committees initiatives • Assist in programs that support student well-being
Requirements: • Aboriginal ancestry is a prerequisite for applicants • Experience with community engagement strategies • Solid communication and interpersonal skills • Understanding of Indigenous culture and challenges • Dedication to enhancing Indigenous student success
