Duties

- Operate snow plows, salt spreaders, and other heavy equipment efficiently to clear snow and ice from roadways, parking lots, and walkways
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Coordinate with dispatch or supervisors to prioritize routes and respond promptly to changing weather conditions
- Perform minor automotive repairs or maintenance on snow removal equipment as needed to maintain operational readiness
- Assist with loading and unloading freight or supplies using forklifts or other heavy machinery when required
- Maintain detailed logs of work performed, including routes cleared, materials used, and equipment maintenance records




- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations during storm events

Requirements

- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as snow plows, forklifts, or similar machinery
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or the ability to obtain one within specified timeframes
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics and routine maintenance procedures for heavy equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in cold weather conditions for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety protocols and operational procedures during winter storm responses
- Prior experience with freight handling or logistics operations is a plus but not required
- Must be reliable, adaptable, and ready to respond promptly during emergency snow removal situations
