The Nurse Practitioner will provide quality care through advanced practice, education, research, leadership and consultation as outlined by hospital policies and procedures and the College of Nurses of Ontario Professional and Practice Standards to support the provision of transitional and seniors care.Skills and Qualification RequiredCurrent unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse, Extended Class (Primary Health Care or Adult)Master's degree in NursingCompletion of an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner ProgramTwo (2) years of recent related experience in a healthcare settingCurrent CPR certificateExperience in the care of older adultsExperience in mental health care specialtyExperience in student supervision, an assetExperience in research, quality improvement or project implementation, as assetPosition ResponsibilitiesWorks to full scope of practice as an advanced practitioner within the auspices of approved medical directives, policies and procedures of Providence CareCompletes admission, discharge, prompt assessments/stabilization, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and timely feedback to the interprofessional team as well as patients and clients and family membersHolds the primary responsibility and accountability as Most Responsible Practitioner (MRP) where assignedConsults and collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional care team to optimize patient care.Initiates and performs a wide variety of investigations,
