General Description Of The Program

St.

Louis

Correspondence courses are designed to be self-directed student learning experiences with minimal student / instructor interaction. Teachers are renumerated per assignment marked.

This position reports to the Program Manager of Correspondence.

This appointment is a renewable contract position that will be offered each year for the school year.

General Description Of Duties

Creating the on-line version of the correspondence course with solutions using D2L A Ministry approved starting course template/shell with content is available

Marker Of Student Assignments In Subject Areas Listed Below

- Evaluate and provide descriptive feedback for student assignments
- Communicate with students through email as needed in qualified and supportive ways
- Monitor student engagement
- Maintain accurate records in D2L and Aspen
- Submit biweekly pay reports as per the submission schedule
- Adhere to all program timing and deadlines
- Oversee the basic functioning of a D2L course (including posting announcements, fixing links,



updating/editing current content and or rubrics)
- Communicate with the Program Manager, Admin Assistant, Student Support Instructors, and other staff as needed
- Complete start up and year end tasks as outlined

Minimum Requirements

- A current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification
- Senior teaching qualifications in the subject area
- D2L or equivalent knowledge and technical experience required
- Demonstrated proficiency in written English

Desirable Assets

- Previous teaching experience in subject area
- Previous Correspondence marking experience
- Previous D2L development experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility

Location: Remote Program Hours: Varies as needed

Rate of Pay: SSCSD11/12 $13.56 per assignment
