Static and Fatigue Structures Stress Engineer - Canada, Montreal - 0401-Direct Position

Responsibilities :

(Management, budget, etc., as related to position level)

As part of the development of the Global 8000 with our partner/client, the primary role of the Structural Calculator is to provide metal certifications for the primary structure, secondary structure design and system installation design. He/she reports directly to the Calculation Manager and is responsible for:

- Ensuring that the scope and technical requirements are met in accordance with customer requirements, program needs and manufacturing requirements.
- Define tests to meet certification requirements.
- Analyze the constraints to predict the tests (behavior and failure mode).
- Support and follow up on tests.
- Write test and certification reports.
- Validate the developed methodologies by correlating the tests with the calculations.
- Analyze the stresses of primary composite and metallic structures.
- Support site R&D; activities as needed.

Specific Requirements

- You have a university degree in mechanical or civil engineering or aeronautics or other and have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- You must have experience with composite/metallic structures and their behavior.




- The profile sought must be static and fatigue oriented.
- You are pragmatic and able to critically analyze calculations and tests.
- Knowledge of CATIA, finite element analysis (Patran/Nastran) and modeling programs is a requirement.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as VBA or Python is an asset.
- General computer skills are essential.
- You must read and write in English and have positive communication skills.
- Fluency in both French and English is an asset.
