The Faculty of Engineering, Dean’s Office is seeking a Student Research Assistant to assist the Integrating AI to Reshape Engineering Pedagogy project (funded through Entente Canada-Quebec).

Primary Responsibilities

- Conduct a comprehensive literature review and environmental scans on best practices for integrating AI content into undergraduate engineering programs.

- With the Research project team, review McGill engineering programs and identify where AI literacy and applied AI knowledge and skills should be embedded.

- Work with instructors to create AI modules and projects for engineering courses.

- With the project team, support the development of learning outcomes, a course plan, and draft instructional content for a Fundamental AI in Engineering course.

- Contribute to the development of conference presentations and academic articles.

- Participate in an AI in engineering education working group.

- Attend weekly 30-minute team meetings.

Job Requirements/Minimum Education/ Experience

- Possesses subject matter expertise acquired through undergraduate studies in various Engineering programs at McGill.

- Active McGill student in various Engineering programs at McGill.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities Students applying should indicate knowledge/experience in any of the following areas:

- Engineering education





- Applied artificial intelligence or generative AI

- Organization and time management skills

- Effective communication skills

- Ability to interact with instructors

- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools

- Familiarity with web conferencing technology (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
