Our employees build exciting careers in fabrication, modularization, field installation, and professional support services for some of the world’s most challenging energy, infrastructure, and industrial projects.Worley Canada Construction is currently seeking a Material Controller to support field execution at a project site near Regina, SK.TheMaterial Controlleris responsible for the execution and control of field-level materials management activities to ensure materials are received, tracked, stored, and issued in alignment with construction priorities.This role is accountable for maintaining accurate system records, ensuring traceability of materials, and proactively resolving material-related issues that may impact construction productivity.The Materials Controller supports receiving readiness, system integrity, and issue resolution, while working closely with Construction, Procurement, and Material Handling teams to ensure efficient and controlled execution.Work ConditionsSite-based role on a project site near Regina, SaskatchewanCandidate may be required to work site rotation (9/5 schedule)Local candidates preferredDaily bussing from Regina to site is providedReporting & InterfacesReports functionally to the Materials Management leadership structureAssigned to a project, and reports operationally to the applicable Materials Lead, Major ProjectsFrequently interfaces with:Construction (supervision & planning)ProcurementProject Materials TeamQualityHome office / Project Materials SupportActs as the primary point of coordination for materials data and system record integrity on siteEnsures alignment between physical material status and system recordsCommunicates risks, constraints, and discrepancies in a timely and proactive mannerSupports construction readiness while maintaining clear ownership of materials control and data integrityKey Accountability AreasCoordinate material deliveries to and from site in collaboration with ProcurementPrepare accurate Bills of Lading and shipping documentation, when required for outbound shipmentsProvide support to Material Handlers to ensure receiving, identification, and documentation processes are executed in accordance with project requirementsEnsure alignment between physical material handling activities and system expectations, without performing routine field transactionsSupport safe, organized, and effective material laydown and movement across siteMaterial Receiving Readiness & System ControlEnsure readiness for material receipt, including verification of expected deliveries,



documentation requirements, and system preparedness (e.G., material master data, heat number structures, required attributes)Support Material Handlers in the receiving process by ensuring requirements, documentation, and system expectations are clearly understood prior to receiptMaintain accurate, real-time material records within the material management system (SiteSense) by verifying that all transactions (receipts, issues, transfers) are completed correctly and in a timely mannerValidate that system records reflect physical material status, and coordinate resolution of discrepancies between system and field conditionsEnsure all material data, including heat numbers, serial numbers, and supporting documentation (e.G., MTRs, CRNs), is complete, accurate, and traceableProvide guidance and oversight on transaction processes, without routinely performing transactional receiving activitiesOwn the coordination and escalation of material discrepancies (OS&D/UOSD), following initial identification and recording by Material HandlersInterface with Procurement, suppliers, and clients to drive timely resolution of material issuesCoordinate shipment schedules and site delivery timelines, including client-supplied (free issue) materialsInterface with Home Office and project teams to ensure timely completion of procurement and materials management activitiesSupport invoice validation and resolution where material discrepancies existConstruction Readiness & ExecutionAlign material availability, staging, and issuing with construction priorities and sequencing, as communicated by site supervisionWork closely with Construction, Planning, and Materials teams to understand workface requirements and material demandProactively identify and elevate material constraints, shortages, or discrepancies that may impact construction executionSupport work package readiness by ensuring materials are visible, traceable, and available when requiredMaintain continuous communication with construction teams to respond to changes in priority or sequencingQuality, Traceability & ComplianceEnsure all materials are received, stored, and issued in a manner that preserves identification, condition, and traceabilityMaintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready material records in accordance with project and client requirementsSupport quality and inspection processes by ensuring material documentation is available and properly linked to material recordsThis role is:Accountable for materials data accuracy, traceability,



and system integrityResponsible for ensuring readiness and control of material receiving processesA key contributor to construction readiness and execution alignmentA problem solver who proactively identifies and resolves material-related issuesA collaborative partner across construction, procurement, and materials teamsThis role is not:Solely a physical material handling role—this position includes significant system accountability and coordination responsibilitiesResponsible for executing routine material receipt transactions or physically receiving materials, except where required to support the team or maintain continuity of operationsResponsible for setting construction priorities or sequencing workA passive coordination role—this position requires ownership of material issues and timely resolutionSuccess looks like:Accurate and timely material records with minimal transaction backlogFull traceability and audit-ready documentationClear alignment between system data and physical material statusProactive identification and resolution of material risksEffective coordination across construction, procurement, and materials teamsQualificationsExperienceCompletion of post-secondary education or a recognized trades certificationMinimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial construction, preferably in a field-based materials rolePractical knowledge of industrial materials (pipe, valves, fittings, instrumentation, equipment, and electrical components) and applicable codes and standardsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, including piping isometrics is an assetExperience supporting fabrication, modularization, and/or field assembly activities (asset)Proven experience using digital materials management systems (e.G., AVEVA ERM, SAP, JD Edwards, SiteSense), with strong focus on data accuracy and transaction controlProficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power Apps or reporting tools is an assetKey AttributesAccountability – Takes ownership of materials data accuracy, issue resolution, and execution outcomesCollaboration – Works effectively across construction, procurement, and materials teamsCritical Thinking – Analyzes information, identifies issues, and develops practical solutionsCommunication – Clearly communicates priorities, risks, and requirements across stakeholdersAdaptability – Effectively manages shifting priorities in a dynamic field environmentHealth, Safety & EnvironmentWorley is committed to achieving zero harm to people, assets, and the environment.
