Job Overview Responsible for the daily plant sanitation functions and sanitation employees while supporting the quality and sanitation improvement process is within the plants. This position is tasked with monitoring chemicals management applications, maintaining sanitation equipment and implementing plant sanitation procedures in compliance with company quality and health and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities: Promote all plant safety, GMP, and food safety policies and procedures while proactively supporting Company needs and requirements

Monitor equipment condition through scheduled food safety preventive maintenance and inspections

Issue a Non-compliance to employees as needed

Demonstrate our Leadership competencies by creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools

Performance Management: Ensure proper onboarding and development of all staff by completing induction process, providing regular feedback and coaching, executing PDP start/mid-year dialogues, and engaging in corrective action when required Talent & Succession: Ensure job vacancies are filled by completing the required processes and representing the company with integrity throughout the recruitment process Training: Ensure completion of function compliance training and /or SOP training Engagement: Develop trusting relationships cross functionally and execute Employee Survey action plans within scope Company Values (RDQAS): Lead by example upholding the values and holding others accountable for the same Plan execute daily, weekly and periodic plantwide cleaning and sanitation actively to ensure compliance with all regulatory procedures for sanitation, housekeeping and readiness for the next day's production Coordinate, plan and document sanitation activities and schedule workforce





Periodic and end of shift walk-around to verify the completion of work and when necessary, due to vacations or other absences of sanitation staff, pitch in and perform work assignments to ensure the completion of tasks

Create a continuous improvement environment by improving services and processes with the objective to reduce waste within the area while striving for efficiency and profitability

Ensure that employees work in compliance with health and safety related legislation and company's health and safety program

Provide an example for others by always directing and performing work in a safe manner; follow company's health and safety policy and procedures

Provide to employee’s instructions on protected work procedures (verbal and written)

Ensure employees are provided with and use required safety equipment personal protective equipment

Conduct regular inspections (planned and unplanned) to identify on safe, hazardous practices and conditions and ensure prompt corrective action

Advise employees of the existence of any potential or actual danger to their health and safety

Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses and complete thorough investigation to identify corrective actions. Advise management on how to prevent similar incidents for the future.

Support the site health and safety committee through ensuring health and safety committee members are provided time and resources to complete their required duties (monthly meetings and inspections)





Hold regular safety meetings with employees to review safety conditions and health and safety policies

Ensure that new and temporary employees receive daily safety instructions before they start work

Foster a culture of quality improvement

Ensures compliance to quality and food safety policies and programs Working Conditions: Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, stack, and/or carry pans, ingredient containers, etc.

Frequent standing and/or stoop for the full shift and able to climb ladders

Ability to work with strong chemicals Frequent exposure to dust and noise in warehouse workplace Ability to work in high places and/or tight spaces

Ability to work near or around machinery Recipe for Success: Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 5 years of experience within a Sanitation Role Minimum 2 years of experience within the Food Manufacturing industry

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)

Proficient with office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams Ability to run analytics and use database systems to create reports

Possesses strong interpersonal skills, an approachable demeanor and an active listener

Demonstrated leadership skills with an effective ability to coach, develop and mentor people

Working knowledge of Ministry of Labour and WSIB

Strong knowledge of CFIA/Health Canada/ OMAFRA/ FDA/ USDA/ GFSI Benchmarks Auditing an asset

Ability to manage and communicate sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
