YW Calgary is seeking a Women's Support Partner for overnight shifts, delivering vital support to women and children in crisis. This role focuses on trauma-informed care during night hours from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
As a key member of the crisis shelter team, you'll provide equitable support to help residents thrive despite their challenges. Your strong skills in risk assessment, community resource navigation, and emotional intelligence will enable you to create a safe and inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize trauma-informed approach for resident support
• Conduct intake assessments and safety planning
• Answer crisis line calls and screen potential residents
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy of all residents
• Perform light housekeeping and inventory checks
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in social work or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience in shelter environments
• Certifications in First Aid and CPR required
• Familiarity with crisis intervention and support
• Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
