The Privacy Officer will guide a team while balancing operational needs, privacy legislation, and risk management. Ideal candidates will excel in providing expert advice and leading policy development for data protection.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with Alberta’s privacy legislation
• Interpret laws, advising on privacy obligations
• Establish governance mechanisms for privacy policies
• Monitor legislative developments and advise leadership
• Manage privacy-related contracts and obligations
Requirements:
• Degree in law or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in privacy and compliance roles
• Knowledge of Alberta privacy legislation
• Experience in managing access to information requests
• Ability to draft and review privacy agreements
