Empower Indigenous participants as a Cultural Support Worker at Bissell Centre. Engage in community support and cultural guidance in a quick-paced environment.
This role with Bissell Centre’s Indigenous Engagement team focuses on empowering community members by promoting Indigenous cultural practices. You'll provide direct support through one-on-one conversations, workshops, and access to land-based practices. Your efforts will contribute to our strategy of eliminating poverty and fostering inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate community workshops and sharing circles
• Implement holistic cultural support processes
• Assist with access to Indigenous ceremonies
• Help participants reconnect with their cultural identities
• Support the integration of Indigenous practices within the organization
Requirements:
• Diploma or Degree in a related field required
• Minimum 2 years of similar experience
• Advanced understanding of Indigenous world views
• Knowledge of traditional ceremonies and teachings
• Familiarity with TRC’s Calls to Action
