POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will maintain an accurate inventory of parts at the designated locations and will be responsible for moving inventory to and from the receiving docks, expediting when appropriate.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Maintain a safe work setting; adhere to safety policies, procedures, and processes.
- Operate forklift, walkie rider, and other material handling equipment to move parts to point of use on production floor. Expedite parts when needed.
- Set up material storage racks, bins, carts, etc. for proper storage online to prevent damage or loss.
- Create and maintain bins and drop areas for part deliveries and removal.
- Support assembly technicians in lifting and moving of materials on production floor.
- Accurately count parts and cycle count parts when directed, and file rejected parts daily.
- Move and empty trash containers into appropriate hoppers.
- Recording part shortage information in appropriate areas and leadership.
- Receives work direction from department leader.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Attention to detail is critical for this position.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Able to work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Ability to learn and successfully obtain a forklift license, and overhead crane operations and basic computer skills including Oracle system.
- Valid driver's license or ability to successfully complete MCI's Lift Truck Operator program.
