Contribute to groundbreaking structural engineering research at UBC as a Structural Testing Laboratory Technician. As part of the ASSET Team within the UBCO School of Engineering, you will play a vital role in large-scale structural testing projects.
This position combines technical skills in fabrication, assembly, and lab safety, while interacting with students and researchers to refine testing methodologies and outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement large-scale experiments for structural systems
- Assemble, test, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Fabricate necessary structural components accurately
- Offer technical support and training to students
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols Requirements:
- Degree in engineering or related technical field
- Four years of relevant laboratory experience
- Experience in structural steel and concrete fabrication
- Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical testing equipment Be part of a research team at UBC focused on creative engineering solutions and contribute to the safety and integrity of built environments.
