- Children’s Health Team as the Unit Manager for the Labor &
- Delivery Unit and Prenatal Clinic at Chinook Regional Hospital. We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative leader to guide and direct our teams in the delivery of excellent care.

The Unit

Manager is responsible for fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, staff engagement, and a cohesive culture. This role makes key decisions and establishes and contributes to the achievements and goals of the Women’s &
- Children’s Health portfolio.

The Unit

Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating change management, promoting team development, teamwork and coordinating staffing and clinical work. Reporting to the Director, the Unit Manager is accountable for the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family focused care. Your leadership, direction and organization must support the vision, mission and business plan of AHS.

Description

The Unit Manager works closely with the Director, Midwifery Leadership, and Physician Leadership to provide high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family-focused care.

The Unit

Manager has operational accountability for Labor &

- Delivery, Labor &
- Delivery Surgical Suites, Fetal Assessment, and Prenatal Clinic.

The Unit

Manager is accountable for the overall operational leadership,



including strategic and operational planning, fostering a culture of collaborative care and continuous improvement, ensuring the effective deployment of resources, and contributing to the development and implementation of operational plans.

The Unit

Manager has financial accountability to plan, determine, manage and monitor assigned budget(s), and authorize expenditures.

The Unit

Manager has people resource accountability to supervise, oversee, and coach/mentor staff.

- Delivery Surgical Suite, Prenatal Clinic Primary Location: Chinook Regional Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Employee Class: Regular Full Time FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 25-SEP-2026 Date Available: 02-NOV-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends, On Call Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $41.16 Maximum Salary: $70.58 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable

Required Qualifications

A minimum of post-secondary education in a health profession. Registration with an appropriate Alberta Regulated Health Profession. Minimum 5 years’ acute care experience. BLS-C (Basic Rescuer) training required.





Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment.

Robust organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing long-term quality services.

Experience in collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Additional Required Qualifications

A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation among and build solid relationships with other healthcare pillars and agencies, such as public health, midwifery.

Familiarity with Connect Care, MS Office Suite, and MS Teams preferred. Familiarity using ePeople, Oracle, eManager/eLeader, RMS, RLS, MSN an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous leadership experience in acute care healthcare settings.

Experience leading quality improvement, patient safety, operational excellence, or service redesign initiatives. Strong knowledge of labor and delivery and/or prenatal care and the corresponding complexities is an asset. Knowledge and understanding of collective agreements and experience working within a unionized environment is an asset.
