Position Title: YARD WORKER | DELIVERY DRIVER

Compensation: $17.50/hr - $19.00/hr – based on experience

SUMMARY OF POSITION The Yard Worker | Driver is critical to the successful operation of a Windsor Plywood store. They will be responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Required pickup and delivery of building materials. This is done along with supporting Yard related activities – including loading & unloading. The role is physically demanding and requires a Class 5 License.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers in a safe, timely manner




- Shipping & Receiving | Ensure all inventory leaving/entering Yard has paper-work
- Order picking, pulling, palletizing, and staging
- Loading & unloading of Transport Trucks, and Customer vehicles
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles scheduled for jobsite deliveries
- Assisting Contractors and other customers with locating products in the Store
- Operate Forklift and Delivery Vehicle in a diligent, professional & safe manner
- Assist with maintenance of equipment, buildings and landscaping onsite
- Actively monitor material organization, stocking levels, & accuracy in Yard
- Diligently follow Check-lists, policies, processes & procedures
- Assist with cutting orders for customers utilizing power tools
- Demonstrate high-knowledge of inventory details, location & stock-levels in Yard
- Demonstrate ability to identify grades, dimensions & species of lumber
- Follow all Provincial driving rules & regulations
- Performs routine maintenance on Truck – including vehicle cleaning

KEY REQUIREMENTS

- Must have completed minimum Grade 12
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Operation & Certification of a Sit-Down Counter Balance Forklift
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated/self-directed, with an ability to work independently using sound judgment, logical reasoning skills, and intuition




- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, always mindful of the customer
- Familiarity with Smart Phones & GPS Devices
- Flexible, honest, acting in all situations with professionalism and integrity
- Deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events in a professional & timely manner
- Permanent resident of Canada

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS

- Exposure to dust, dirt and adverse weather conditions – including rain, snow, wind, sun

- Busy, high-volume work workplace
- Noise level is moderate to low
- During the winter months hours may be reduced due to operational requirements
