About Us:

Queen’s Academy of The Arts is a Black-owned, women-led, and LGBTQ2S+ founded performing arts organization offering inclusive musical theatre programs for children ages 4–16. Established in 2013 by Queen Alexis, the Academy was born from a deep commitment to equity, creativity, and community. We create spaces where all children—especially those who are often underrepresented—can feel seen, celebrated, and free to express themselves through music, movement, and storytelling. By bringing affordable, play-based programming directly into schools and community spaces, Queen’s Academy is changing the landscape of arts education.

We're looking for - Educators who are passionate about working with children, skilled in the arts, and grounded in values that centre diversity, and inclusion,—creating brave spaces where every child feels seen and inspired.

Position:
We're contracting Lead Teachers for our musical theatre afterschool programs at select Burnaby/Burquitlam elementary schools.

Work Dates:

- ASAP (or January+ 2027. Option for 2-4 days a week. Teaching weekdays 3-5pm.

You’ll:

- Teach singing, dancing, acting games, and lead a final performance
- Foster a fun, safe,



and supportive environment for students aged 5-8
- All curriculum, materials, and supplies provided

Requirements:

- MUST: Experience working with large groups of children (aged 5-10)
- MUST: Musical theatre, drama, or performing arts background
- Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
- First Aid (or willing to obtain)

Pay: $26-31/hour (depending on experience); flexible hours, contract-based.
