The Port Alice Health Centre has an opening for a Family Physician to join a team of dedicated health care professionals providing primary and urgent care services to a community of 1,200 residents. Port Alice Health Centre services includes urgent care, laboratory, social work, mental health, public health and home nursing care. This is a collegial, team-oriented physician practice, with a shared patient panel. Port Alice physicians also provide outreach service to the remote indigenous community of Kyuquot.

In addition to primary care services, Port Alice Health Center simultaneously operates an Urgent Care service in conjunction with remote certified nurses. Casual rural emergency department shifts are also available (optional) in the neighboring communities of Port Hardy, Port McNeill and Cormorant Island.

Port Alice is the gateway to the rugged and pristine west coat, and is the perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts. The community enjoys a full array of services including shopping, a library, excellent restaurants, regular community based events and a fully equipped recreational complex.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including (subject to change):

Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $20,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
Flat fee: $36,232.32
Fee Premium: 23.38%
CME: $1,320/annum 2 years or less, $3,520/annum year 3-4 and $5,720/annum after 4 years in the community
