Overview

Summerview Medical Centre is seeking a motivated and professional International Medical Graduate (IMG) to join our busy family medicine clinic in Newmarket.

This is an excellent opportunity for an IMG looking to gain valuable Canadian clinical experience, work closely with family physicians, and further develop their knowledge of primary care and patient management within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Position

Full-Time Position

- Monday to Friday, approximately 8 hours per day
- Daily hours and start/end times may vary depending on physician schedules and clinic needs
- Occasional Saturday daytime shifts may be required

Responsibilities

- Support physicians during patient assessments and examinations
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure necessary supplies are available
- Obtain and document patient histories, as directed by the physician
- Assist with minor procedures, where appropriate and under physician direction
- Process lab and diagnostic reports
- Provide patients with instructions given by the physician
- Assist with referrals, requisitions, forms, and follow-up activities
- Support patient flow and ensure physicians have the information they need during appointments
- Communicate with patients regarding physician instructions and follow-up




- Assist with other clinical and administrative tasks as required by the physicians
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications

- International Medical Graduate (IMG)
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, reliable, and patient-focused
- Comfortable working directly with physicians and patients
- Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced family medicine environment
- Previous clinical experience is an asset
- Experience with EMR systems is an asset
