Position Overview

The Aviation Purchaser is a dedicated role responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement and supply chain functions for North Cariboo Air. Serving as a key driver of operational readiness, this position balances strategic financial management with hands-on sourcing expertise. Your primary focus will be executing day-to-day purchasing, managing vendor networks, and maintaining budget control, while ensuring our maintenance teams have immediate access to critical materials to keep the fleet flying safely and efficiently.

Position Highlights

- Day-to-Day Purchasing: Acts as the primary buyer for aircraft components, tooling, and operational consumables, securing required materials while ensuring strict adherence to lead times and quality standards.
- Budget Control: Monitors procurement spending, negotiates competitive pricing and payment terms, and tracks financial metrics to maximize cost efficiency without compromising safety or schedule.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Builds, evaluates, and maintains strong partnerships with OEMs, suppliers, and repair facilities to secure favorable terms, reliable delivery, and high-quality service.
- Inventory Management: Oversees stock optimization through inventory tracking, min/max level management, and cycle monitoring to prevent shortages while minimizing excess holding costs.
- AOG Material Support: Sourcing, purchasing, and expediting critical components during Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) emergencies, coordinating high-priority logistics to minimize fleet downtime.

Experience and Qualifications

- Experience:



Minimum 3–5 years of dedicated purchasing or supply chain experience within the aviation industry.
- Purchasing Expertise: Direct experience in sourcing aircraft parts, managing supplier contracts, controlling departmental budgets, and executing high-urgency AOG logistics.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of aviation regulatory requirements regarding material traceability, certification documentation (e.g., Form 8130, CoC), and inventory control.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with aviation maintenance and inventory management software, along with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office suites.
- Education: Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
