MIG Welder/Fitter
Hours: starting at 2pm or 3pm – must be okay with training from 7am-4pm.
Location: Holland Landing
Rate: $25-29 based on experience (that includes premium rate)
Welder/Fitter
- Experience in a heavy steel fabrication/machining/assembly environment
- Weld and fit components together using MIG welding
- Read & interpret shop drawings and weld diagrams to ensure accuracy of work
- Use hand tools, torches, and other tools as required to complete work
- two or more years experience as a Welder Fitter working on custom components
- Capable of reading & interpreting shop drawings and weld diagrams
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Safety conscious
- Overhead Crane and Rigging an asset
- TSSA tickets an asset
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous MIG welding experience; welding school or apprenticeship experience will be considered.
- Ability to perform quality welds with minimal supervision.
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience working with structural steel is an asset.
- CWB certification or welding tickets are preferred but not required.
- Must provide and maintain a personal welding helmet.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team setting.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills. Physical Requirements •Ability to stand for extended periods. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required. • Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and varying temperatures. • Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving bending, kneeling, and manual dexterity.
