LiftWerx is a specialized wind energy contractor which performs large corrective repairs, mainly using crane-less technology. LiftWerx offers both specialized equipment and experienced personnel to perform corrective repairs on a wide variety of wind turbines. The majority of lifting services are performed using up-tower crane technology, which avoids the high cost and disruption of utilizing large conventional cranes on the ground.

JOB TITLE:

Equipment Specialist

LOCATION:

This is an on-site position, based out of our Cambridge, ON office.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Equipment Specialist at LiftWerx is responsible for supporting the lifecycle of specialized wind energy equipment, from development and procurement through testing, commissioning, documentation, and deployment. Working closely with engineering, procurement, and field operations teams, this role ensures new equipment is accurately assembled, quality-tested, properly documented, and ready for safe field use. The Equipment Specialist also supports equipment handoffs and training for field personnel, maintains asset records, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined individual with experience in equipment administration, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration within an engineering or industrial environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collaborate with the engineering team throughout pre- and post-commissioning of equipment to verify function, capabilities, usability, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Own the coordination, receipt, and QA/QC of new equipment investments from development through inventory, assembly, testing, and commissioning.




- Collaborate with the Procurement team to confirm all assemblies are complete and accurate against the ordered BOM.
- Work with the Equipment team to ensure new assets are properly documented and allocated.
- Support with equipment load testing processes and test assembly of equipment as required.
- Lead equipment hand-offs to field teams, ensuring they are fully trained on proper installation and use.
- Ensure all work procedures and equipment manuals are finalized and distributed to stakeholders before equipment goes into use.
- Maintain and update internal systems with accurate, up-to-date asset information and status.
- Help foster a positive, cooperative team culture that keeps work enjoyable, balanced, and creative for everyone.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technician or technologist, or a related degree or diploma.

Work Experience:

- 1-5 years of experience working with Engineering, Field Operations, Quality Assurance or Product Development teams.

Knowledge/Skills:

- Advanced understanding of equipment documentation and administration, including engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Intermediate understanding of quality control / QA-QC processes including equipment intake, inventory, testing and commissioning.




- Basic understanding of equipment design, fabrication, machining and hydraulic systems.
- Hands-on experience with tooling.
- Microsoft Office and relevant business/asset management software experience.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, procurement, equipment, and field teams.
- Ability to train and transfer knowledge to field staff.
- Safety awareness and adherence to relevant health and safety standards for equipment testing, rigging, and cranes.

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 CAD
