Job Overview
Harbour City Kitchens is looking for a versatile and dependable CNC, Sander & Edgebander Operator / Assembly Team Member to join our Production team.
This is a hands-on, hybrid position that supports multiple areas of our manufacturing process. The successful candidate will operate CNC and Edgebanding equipment, assist with sanding and assembly of cabinets, and move between work areas based on production needs.
You will play an important role in ensuring cabinet components are accurately machined, properly finished, assembled to specification, and meet HCK's quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Operation
- Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently to manufacture cabinet components.
- Load and unload materials and finished parts.
- Review production information, drawings, labels, and specifications before machining.
- Select and run appropriate programs for required parts.
- Monitor machine operation and finished components for accuracy and quality.
- Identify machining issues and communicate deficiencies or equipment concerns promptly.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
Edgebander Operation
- Operate the Edgebander to apply quality edgetape to cabinet components, doors, and parts.
- Enter relevant part information into the Edgebander computer.
- Set up and calibrate the machine for different edgetape types and specifications.
- Inspect finished components to ensure edgetape is properly applied and meets quality standards.
- Organize and maintain edgetape inventory.
- Perform routine cleaning and general maintenance on the Edgebander.
- Identify and communicate quality or equipment issues.
Cabinet Assembly
- Assemble various types of cabinets according to specifications.
- Safely operate the case clamp, conveyor belt, hand tools, power tools, and related production equipment.
- Read production paperwork and complete jobs according to specifications.
- Build specialty cabinets as required.
- Perform continuous quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
- Ensure cabinets and components are positioned correctly for the next stage of production.
- Identify and organize deficient cabinets or components requiring correction.
Sander
● Match sandpaper grips, sanding times, and techniques to wood types.
● Inspect wood pieces for deficiencies and fix accordingly.
● Utilize a hand operated orbital sander, handsaw with sandpaper, or a sanding block, to sand wood pieces.
Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
