Senior Accountant – Public Practice & Tax

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with strong experience in public accounting and taxation to join our growing firm. The successful candidate will manage client engagements, prepare and review financial statements, corporate and personal tax returns, and provide advisory services to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Notice to Reader, Review Engagement, and Audit files.
- Prepare and review corporate, personal, trust, and partnership tax returns.
- Complete year-end working paper files and financial statements.
- Perform tax planning and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients.
- Research and resolve complex accounting and tax issues.
- Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
- Review bookkeeping and GST/HST filings.
- Assist clients with CRA correspondence, audits, and tax inquiries.
- Mentor and supervise junior accountants and accounting technicians.
- Participate in firm growth initiatives and business development activities.
- Ensure compliance with CPA standards, taxation legislation, and firm policies.
QualificationsRequired
- CPA designation or nearing completion.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Canadian Public Practice accounting firm.
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing corporate and personal income tax returns.
- Proficiency with CaseWare, TaxPrep, Profile, QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Excel.
- Thorough understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Experience managing multiple client files and deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience with review and audit engagements.
- Advanced tax planning experience.
- Leadership and team supervision experience.
- Experince in Audit and Review will be considered as asset

Pay: $65,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
