We are currently seeking Confined Space Coordinators to support an upcoming Shutdown in October. The Confined Space Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing confined space entry requirements, ensuring permits and documentation are complete, atmospheric testing is conducted, and all workers follow established safety procedures.

***This position is located in Sudbury, ON. There is no camp accommodations or relocation assistance provided.***

About the Job:

This is a safety-critical position that requires solid attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to confidently identify and address safety concerns in a fast-paced shutdown environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and oversee confined space entries, ensuring all permits, hazard assessments, entry/rescue plans, and required documentation are complete, signed, and posted.
- Conduct and coordinate atmospheric testing and monitoring, ensuring equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated according to site and manufacturer requirements.
- Review confined space requirements with workers and ensure all personnel understand and comply with established entry procedures, controls, and safety requirements.
- Monitor and audit confined space activities throughout the entry, identifying and addressing deficiencies, changing conditions, or non-compliance as they arise.
- Complete and maintain confined space documentation, including final permit reviews, transferring ownership when required, and returning completed entry packages to the Supervisor.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have previous confined space experience and a strong understanding of workplace safety procedures. They will be comfortable coordinating with multiple workers and trades,



reviewing documentation, conducting atmospheric testing, and ensuring confined space requirements are followed at all times.

- Previous experience as a Confined Space Coordinator or in a similar safety-focused role.
- Valid/ Prior NATT Confined Space Attendant Training.
- Strong knowledge of confined space entry procedures, permits, hazard assessments, and safety requirements.
- Experience with atmospheric testing and air monitoring equipment.
- Solid attention to detail and the ability to accurately complete and review safety documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to confidently communicate safety requirements and address deficiencies or unsafe conditions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple confined space activities in a busy shutdown environment.
- Team-oriented with the ability to build positive working relationships with workers, supervisors, contractors, and clients.
- Ability to follow and enforce Health & Safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Reliable and safety-focused with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- WHMIS, Half Mask, Sudbury INO training/certification, and other relevant safety tickets are considered assets.
- Must have reliable transportation, as public transportation is not available to the worksite.
- Must be located in Sudbury, Ontario.
