Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive, dependable, and hands-on Night Shift Working Foreman to lead pavement marking crews during our busy line painting season and support our snow removal operations throughout the winter.

This is a working foreman position—you will be expected to work alongside the crew while also taking responsibility for coordinating employees, equipment, materials, safety, productivity, and job quality.

During the spring, summer, and fall, the position will primarily involve night-time pavement marking and line painting operations on roads, parking lots, intersections, and other commercial or municipal properties. During the winter, the role transitions into snow removal operations, including sidewalk plowing, shoveling, salting, and supporting snow crews.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise night-time pavement marking crews while working alongside the team.
- Coordinate daily/nightly work assignments and ensure crews arrive at job sites prepared and on time.
- Operate and oversee pavement marking equipment used for line painting, crosswalks, stop bars, arrows, parking lots, and other markings.
- Ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and to company and customer quality standards.
- Review job requirements and communicate clear instructions to crew members before and throughout each shift.
- Coordinate trucks, equipment, paint, glass beads, traffic-control equipment, and other materials required for each job.
- Monitor job progress and crew productivity throughout the night.
- Set up and maintain safe work zones, including cones, signs, traffic-control equipment, and vehicle positioning.




- Conduct pre-shift and ongoing safety inspections of vehicles, equipment, and work areas.
- Identify equipment or operational issues and communicate maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, hours worked, and any incidents or issues encountered.
- Assist with training and developing new employees.
- Help create a positive, accountable work environment and maintain high expectations for safety, attendance, productivity, and workmanship.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and operations management regarding job progress and any issues requiring attention.

Winter Responsibilities

During the winter season, responsibilities will transition primarily to snow and ice management operations, including:

- Leading and working alongside sidewalk snow removal crews.
- Operating sidewalk plows and other snow removal equipment.
- Shoveling sidewalks, entrances, stairs, and other areas that cannot be accessed by equipment.
- Applying salt and other ice-control materials.
- Coordinating employees and equipment during snow events.
- Inspecting assigned properties to ensure snow and ice have been properly cleared.
- Responding to changing weather conditions and operational requirements.
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety during overnight, early-morning, and severe-weather operations.

Experience & Qualifications

- Previous experience supervising or leading crews in construction, road work, landscaping, snow removal, pavement marking,



or another outdoor operations environment is preferred.
- Experience with line painting or pavement marking is an asset but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a crew.
- Comfortable working directly alongside employees in a physically demanding environment.
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working around trucks, machinery, and specialized equipment.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently during night operations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable and able to work nights, weekends, extended shifts, and changing schedules when required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Previous snow removal, sidewalk plowing, or equipment operating experience is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and clean driving record are strongly preferred.

Pay: $123.00 per hour
