Grants and Partnerships Coordinator, Nonprofit Arts

About the Position

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Grants and Partnerships Coordinator to support a group of not-for-profit arts and cultural organizations operating across Canada.

The successful candidate will research grant opportunities, prepare compelling applications, coordinate supporting documents, develop project budgets, and manage important deadlines. This position requires someone who can clearly communicate the impact of our artistic and cultural programs and turn information, data, and community outcomes into engaging stories.

The coordinator will support several organizations, including the Canadian Arabic Orchestra, Mississauga World Music Festival, and partner arts organizations in Ottawa, Kitchener, and Montreal.

Key Responsibilities

- Research grants and financial-support opportunities from government agencies, arts councils, foundations, corporations, and community organizations
- Identify opportunities that match each organization’s programs, objectives, and eligibility
- Prepare clear, persuasive, and well-organized applications and proposals
- Describe programs, events, and community impact through compelling storytelling
- Create and review project budgets, financial information, and supporting documents
- Coordinate application materials with leadership, artistic teams, finance staff, and community partners
- Manage multiple applications, projects, priorities, and deadlines at the same time
- Maintain an organized calendar of opportunities, deadlines, results, and reporting requirements
- Build and maintain professional relationships with potential partners and supporting organizations
- Track successful and unsuccessful applications and recommend improvements




- Assist with required reports and follow-up documentation
- Ensure all information submitted is accurate, complete, and consistent

Required Qualifications

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong English-language skills, both written and spoken
- Previous experience or a background in communications, sales, business development, nonprofit development, or a related field
- Strong numerical skills and the ability to understand and prepare project budgets
- Excellent management, organization, and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to transform facts, programs, and results into a clear and engaging story
- Strong research, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and online application portals, AI platforms

Preferred Qualifications

- Ability to speak and write in French and Arabic
- Has a strong will to learn and always looking to improve

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who combines the relationship-building abilities of a sales qualified with strong writing, research, numerical, and organizational skills. They are detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to communicate the value of an arts program through meaningful and persuasive storytelling.

This is a remote position supporting not-for-profit arts and cultural organizations dedicated to presenting music, festivals, cultural programming, and community initiatives across Canada.

Training will be provided on the job.

Schedule

This is a part-time, remote position that is expected to transition into a full-time role in the future.

Pay

$24 per hour
