Automotive Technician – Block 2 or Higher

Auto Max Garage is looking for a full-time Automotive Technician to join our team.

We are seeking candidates who have completed Block 2 or higher of the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship program, including fully licensed Automotive Service Technicians. Duties, responsibilities, and compensation will be based on the successful candidate's training, experience, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tires, batteries, filters, fluids, and scheduled maintenance
- Inspect vehicles and identify worn, damaged, or unsafe components
- Perform brake, steering, suspension, wheel bearing, exhaust, cooling system, and other mechanical repairs
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns using scan tools, test equipment, and service information
- Complete assigned repairs efficiently and accurately
- Document inspections, recommended repairs, diagnostic findings, and completed work
- Identify and report additional repairs or safety concerns
- Properly operate hoists, tire equipment, diagnostic equipment, and other shop tools
- Maintain a clean and protected work area
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements
- Perform road tests when required
- Work cooperatively with other technicians, service staff, and management

Apprentice technicians will receive technical guidance as required and will be expected to continue progressing through the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship program.





Fully licensed technicians will be expected to independently diagnose and repair a broad range of vehicle concerns and may assist less-experienced technicians when required.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

- Completed Block 2 or higher of the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship program; or
- Hold a valid Automotive Service Technician licence/certification

Candidates should also have:

- Valid driver's licence
- Automotive repair and maintenance experience appropriate to their level of training
- Ability to safely operate automotive tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment
- Good mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently within their demonstrated level of competency
- Reliable attendance and a professional attitude
- Willingness to continue developing technical skills and knowledge

We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in automotive repair who can contribute productively in the shop while continuing to develop their skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
