Part time Housekeeper, Private Residence (North Shore)

Palmerston is running this search on behalf of a private individual on Vancouver's North Shore. The employer's name is confidential and is shared with shortlisted candidates at the third interview, under a confidentiality agreement.

This is a morning housekeeping role in a family home, four hours a day, Monday to Friday. The shift is done by early afternoon. If you already have an afternoon client or a second job, this is built to sit alongside it.

The work

- General cleaning and tidying through the house

- Making beds

- Clearing up after breakfast and resetting the kitchen

- Laundry, including washing, folding and putting away

- Deep cleaning and organizing projects on a rotating basis

What this role is not

- No childcare. You are not responsible for the children and you will not be left alone with them. The personal assistant / house manager handles anything that comes up

- No cooking

- No driving duties

What we are looking for

- Previous housekeeping experience in private homes

- Reliability. The schedule is the same every week and the household plans around it

- Discretion and respect for a private home

- Comfortable working around a small dog

- Able to work independently once the routine is set

- Attention to detail,



and the habit of flagging anything in the home that needs attention

- Able to lift up to 20 pounds and to be on your feet for the shift. It is a large home, with a lot of walking and stairs

- Legally entitled to work in Canada

The practical details

- Monday to Friday, four hours each morning, roughly 20 hours a week

- Occasional longer days, up to six hours, for deep cleans, seasonal work or special occasions. Always agreed in advance

- Palmerston handles your onboarding and training and sets the routine. Once the house manager is in place, they set the weekly priorities

- North Shore residence only. This is a single property role

- Start date: October or November 2026

Compensation

- $25 to $30 per hour

- Employee position on payroll with source deductions and a T4, not contract

- 90-day probationary period

How the hiring works

There are three interviews. Palmerston runs the first two. Shortlisted candidates then meet the employer, and the employer's name is shared at that stage under a confidentiality agreement. An offer is conditional on reference checks and a criminal record check.
