Clinical Administrative Assistant

Part-Time, 3 Month Contract with the possibility of extension (18.75 Hours a week)

Village Family Health Team is a primary care provider located in Liberty Village, Toronto. We provide primary care to all members of our community with a special focus on serving people with serious mental illness and addictions. We are hiring for a part-time, permanent position with competitive perks package including HOOPP pension plan. Position Summary

The Clinical Administrative Assistant provides front-line secretarial and reception support to the physicians and inter-professional health care providers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Patient Appointment Scheduling and Communication

- Greets patients upon arrival, assesses and directs to appropriate areas
- Answers phone and electronic patient communication and sets appointments for patients with appropriate physicians and/or other health professionals
- Answers patient related questions or inquiries and refers to appropriate individual if beyond scope

General Office Duties

- Performs clerical duties (photocopies, faxes, e-mails, mail pickup/delivery)
- Supports specialist referrals
- Assists with patient communications including in person, phone, written or electronic.




- Supports operations of clinic by proactively problem solving and following up when items need to be fixed or cleaned up.

The above responsibilities are not to be considered all inclusive; the individual may be assigned other related duties in the interest of efficient operations of Village FHT.

Qualifications:

- Completion of Medical Secretary Course REQUIRED
- Minimum of 2 years Medical Office Experience
- Computer proficiency and demonstrated ability to work with an Electronic Medical Record REQUIRED. Experience with Accuro is an asset.
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficient English oral and written communication skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality

Reporting Structure

The Clinical and Administrative Support Team Member is supervised by the Office Manager or delegate for day-to-day operations.

Job Specifications

Location

This position will be located at 171 East Liberty St. Unit 102.

Hours of Work

18.75 hours per week and will correspond to the FHT practice operations including rotational evening and/or Saturday clinics.

Status

0.5 FTE, 3 month contract with possibility of extension
