Precedence Private Wealth serves clients throughout Canada in all areas of wealth management, full financial planning including insurance, debt planning, accounting and tax advisory and filing, as well as investments alongside a partnering relationship.
This is an opportunity to elevate your tax preparation skills by integrating T1 and T2 returns into a client’s comprehensive financial plan. This role goes beyond simply preparing tax returns at a fast pace, it provides the chance to gain deeper experience, knowledge, and strategic insight. For our team, T1 filing is just the starting point in delivering meaningful value to clients. Implementing a written tax plan brings a higher level of work fulfillment, enabling you to make a real difference to clients financial future. Imagine recommending and assisting with strategies such as RRSP contributions, incorporations, or making a client’s mortgage tax-deductible and other initiatives that save tax and create a lasting impact on clients’ financial well-being.
The successful candidate will have 2-5 years CPA experience. They will collaborate closely with our CPA accountant and financial planners to support financial planning, tax planning, and year-round client recommendations. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, breaking away from the monotony of routine tax preparation and providing a energetic and engaging work environment.
The successful candidate should desire a firm culture where the work is methodical, deliberate, professional, and solution-focused. The successful candidate will have strong and professional communication skills as well as vast experience with excel and Adobe and the ability to adapt easily to different technology and software solutions.

This candidate is not expected to have clients or grow clientele. However, if this candidate has a current client base, a merger of client and process could be a consideration. This is not a contract position therefore, please do not apply if you are not suitable to join this team as a full-time Accountant for our firm.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of T1, T2 and T3 returns as well as T4 and T5’s
- Being familiar with client files to confirm any missing information
- Identifying planning opportunities beyond annual filing requirements
- Meeting with Clients prior to tax filing preparation, reviewing completed files with clients when required, along with answering technical inquiries
- Meeting and communicating with clients associated to material changes such as selling rentals, land and other assets
- Updating written tax summaries
- Assisting with CRA reviews when required
- Acting as a liaison with the CRA on matters related to client files when required
- Assisting with RRSP, income, remittance and financial planning recommendations when required
Compensation:
- Full-time salary of $84,000 - $120,000 per year; depending on CPA experience
- Benefits and matching RRSP savings plan
- Additional 5 personal days on top of holidays
Requirements
- Minimum 2-5 years CPA designation and experience
- Experience preparing T2 returns
- Minimum 5 years tax experience in Canada
