Red Seal Truck & Equipment Repair is looking for an experienced Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Service Manager to join our Edmonton operation.

We are a busy commercial repair facility servicing heavy trucks, trailers, tank equipment and commercial fleets. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the service department, communicate well with customers and technicians, and keep work moving from the time a unit enters the shop until the final invoice is completed.

This is not just a desk position. We need someone who understands heavy-duty repair, can make decisions, manage priorities and keep the shop organized in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

- Manage the daily workflow of the service department
- Coordinate work between customers, technicians, parts and management
- Review incoming repair requests and determine priorities
- Open, manage and monitor work orders
- Prepare and review repair estimates
- Contact customers for repair approvals
- Document customer approvals and conversations accurately
- Ensure technicians have clear repair instructions before work begins
- Monitor technician progress, repair times and job status
- Identify jobs that are running over estimated labour time and address issues early
- Work with the parts department to make sure required parts are ordered and charged to the correct work order
- Communicate delays, additional repairs and completion times with customers
- Review completed work orders for labour, parts, notes and supporting documentation
- Ensure completed work orders are ready for invoicing within 48 hours of repair completion
- Follow up on open estimates, pending approvals and outstanding work orders
- Coordinate warranty and comeback repairs when required
- Assist with quality-control concerns and customer complaints




- Help schedule shop work based on technician availability and customer priority
- Maintain professional communication with fleet customers
- Support after-hours and emergency service coordination when required
- Work closely with Operations and Shop Management to keep the department productive and organized

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the heavy-duty truck, trailer or commercial fleet repair industry.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

- Previous Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Service Advisor or senior heavy-duty technician experience
- Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck and trailer repairs
- Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy-Duty Mechanic background is a strong asset
- Alberta Journeyperson or Red Seal certification is an asset
- Experience managing technicians and shop workflow
- Experience building repair estimates and reviewing work orders
- Solid understanding of labour times, parts and repair profitability
- Experience dealing directly with commercial fleet customers
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to make decisions without needing constant supervision
- Comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly
- Strong computer skills




- Experience with Fullbay or similar shop-management software is an asset

Pay: $85,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
