With over 200 guest rooms, Waves Indoor Waterpark, Senses Spa & Boutique, onsite dining, and a 20,000-square-foot conference and event centre, we bring together hospitality, recreation and memorable guest experiences all under one roof.
Position Summary
The General Manager is the senior operational leader responsible for the overall performance, profitability, guest experience, and strategic direction of a large-scale integrated hospitality destination featuring a hotel, conference and event facilities, waterpark, spa, restaurant, and concession.
The General Manager will lead a diverse, multidisciplinary team and ensure all areas of the property operate as one cohesive destination. This senior leader will balance exceptional guest service with disciplined financial management, operational excellence, employee engagement, safety, and long-term asset performance. The ideal candidate is a highly visible, hands-on hospitality leader with proven experience leading a multifaceted hotel or resort operation, preferably with significant conference, attractions, recreation, spa, and food & beverage components.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the hotel, conference centre, resort, spa and waterpark.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure effective coordination across all departments.
- Establish organizational goals, priorities, and performance expectations, holding department leaders accountable for results.
- Partner with ownership and/or the Board to achieve operational, financial and guest-experience objectives.
- Monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and service.
- Represent the property within the local business and tourism community.
Financial & Revenue Performance
- Maintain overall accountability for the operating budget, financial performance and resource allocation.
- Drive occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, profitability and total property revenue.
- Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs and ensure department leaders achieve their objectives.
- Collaborate with ownership and senior management on annual budgets and financial objectives.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management teams to maximize revenue and profitability.
People & Organizational Management
- Lead, coach and support department managers and the broader workforce.
- Oversee workforce planning, staffing, performance management and employee development.
- Foster a culture of hospitality, accountability, teamwork, inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Support managers in addressing employee relations matters and ensure consistent application of workplace policies and practices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and organizational requirements.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Maintain overall accountability for guest satisfaction, service quality and a consistent guest experience.
- Establish and monitor service standards across all reas of the operation.
- Oversee the resolution of significant guest concerns and service issues.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement initiatives to continuously improve service and satisfaction.
Risk, Safety & Property Management
- Maintain overall accountability for the safe, secure and effective operation of the property and its facilities.
- Oversee health and safety, emergency preparedness, security, crisis management and risk management programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, licensing requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee significant facility maintenance, security, and operational issues and ensure timely corrective action.
- Ensure property and amenities meet appropriate standards of safety, quality and functionality.
Strategic Business Development
- Develop and implement strategies supporting long-term growth, competitiveness and financial success.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance guest experiences, expand services,
control costs and increase revenue.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key clients, suppliers, partners and stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions and competitive activity and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Contribute to organizational planning and decisions regarding future services, facilities, investments and operational priorities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years of hotel management experience, preferably in a senior management or General Manager capacity, required.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams, fostering accountability, collaboration and high service standards, required.
- Strong understanding of hotel financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue management and cost control, required.
- Highly visible and engaged with guests and employees, required.
- Demonstrated responsibility for budgets, P&L;, revenue generation, and operational performance, required.
- Experience with a waterpark, amusement/recreation facility, spa, or major attraction, required.
- Conference/convention and group-business experience, required.
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism or a related field, an asset.
- Familiarity with Maestro PMS, an asset.

Pay: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
