We're looking for a talented writer and editor to join us on a flexible, part-time basis.

This is a modern editorial role that combines strong writing and editorial judgment with AI-assisted content creation. You’ll use ChatGPT as part of your writing process, but we’re looking for someone who knows the difference between simply generating text and producing an interesting, polished magazine article people actually want to read.

The ideal candidate has formal education or professional experience in English, writing, journalism, communications, publishing, or a closely related field and has an excellent command of written English.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be responsible for producing approximately one magazine article per hour, with approximately 5 hours of work per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing engaging and timely article ideas
- Researching topics and identifying compelling angles
- Using ChatGPT and other AI tools to assist with research, drafting, and content development
- Editing and rewriting AI-generated material to ensure articles are engaging, natural, accurate, and publication-ready
- Fact-checking important information before publication
- Selecting appropriate licensed photography for each story
- Entering articles and images into our online magazine builder
- Formatting and reviewing each article
- Publishing completed stories
- Maintaining a consistent editorial voice and quality across the magazine

Our editorial coverage includes modeling, culture, fashion, beauty, travel, and luxury.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with excellent writing ability and solid editorial instincts.

Required:

- Formal education or professional experience related to English, writing, journalism, communications, publishing, or a similar field




- Native-level or fully fluent written English
- Excellent grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to turn a basic topic into an interesting and compelling story
- Strong attention to detail
- Good research and fact-checking skills
- Comfortable using ChatGPT and AI as part of a professional writing workflow
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet publishing expectations
- Comfortable learning new web-based publishing tools

Previous magazine or digital publishing experience is an asset but is not required.

Schedule & Location

This is a highly flexible position requiring approximately 5 hours per week.

Most work can be completed remotely on your own schedule. However, you must be located in the Halifax, Nova Scotia area and available to meet with our team in person approximately once per week.

Compensation

$30–$40 per hour, depending on education, writing ability, and relevant experience.

We are open to structuring the position as either part time employment or a contractor arrangement depending on the successful candidate and circumstances.

About the Role

This position may be especially well suited to an experienced writer, editor, journalist, English graduate, communications professional, or other strong writer looking for a small amount of consistent, flexible editorial work each week.

AI makes it possible to produce content more efficiently, but human editorial judgment is central to this position. We’re looking for someone who can recognize a great story, ask the right questions, improve weak writing, catch inaccuracies, and turn AI-assisted drafts into polished magazine content.
