Reading Assistant / Grader – Saskatoon Lakewood Kumon Centre

Saskatoon Lakewood Kumon is looking for candidates with strong academic and English language skills who enjoy working with children and helping them achieve academic success.

This is not a temporary position. We are looking for responsible, reliable individuals who are interested in a long-term commitment.

Applicants must:

- Be proficient in English and have excellent high school English language skills.
- Have excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
- Enjoy working with and helping children.
- Be responsible, reliable, hardworking, and punctual.
- Preferably be a high school student interested in a long-term position.
- Previous experience as a Kumon student and/or experience working in a Kumon Centre is an asset.
- Be comfortable working with students of different ages and abilities.
- Only apply if you are available for all required days and hours listed below. There is no flexibility in the work schedule in terms of days or hours.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Reading Assistant/Grader who can help with various tasks around the Kumon Centre and work with young children. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience working with children, especially if pursuing a career in teaching or education.

Schedule & Hours

- 4 days per week: Monday to Thursday
- 16 hours per week
- 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM each day




- The schedule is fixed. Applicants must be available for all four days and the full 3:30 PM–7:30 PM shift.

Responsibilities may include:

- Supervise, interact with, and motivate students during the instruction hour.
- Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm.
- Prepare students' worksheets prior to class, including ensuring reference and writing materials are available.
- Date and prepare students' worksheets in sequence for the next session.
- Ensure worksheets and required materials are available when needed.
- Grade and document students' work accurately.
- Assist students in understanding and correcting mistakes they cannot easily correct themselves.
- Communicate any concerns about students' work, progress, or attitude to the Instructor.
- Ensure students have the correct materials to take home until their next scheduled class.
- Help maintain a neat, organized, and positive learning environment.
- Perform other duties as required to support students in achieving their objectives.
