Company Description

Battle River Energy Ltd. (Battle River) is a junior oil company, with a head office located downtown Calgary. Founded in 2018, Battle River is a conventional heavy oil producer operating in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB).

The Role

Battle River is seeking a Production Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate brings a background in oil and gas, along with robust experience in production accounting and volumetric reporting.

Accountabilities

Production Accounting & Reporting

· Full cycle production, revenue, and royalty accounting for properties in Alberta and Saskatchewan

· Ensure accurate allocations of volumes across wells, batteries, plants, pipelines, and sales points.

· Process and reconcile third‑party statements, facility charges, and transportation/processing fees.

· Maintain well, battery, and facility master data and ensure accurate mapping in accounting systems.

Compliance & Regulatory

· Ensure all production reporting meets provincial and federal regulatory requirements.

· Investigate and resolve government reporting discrepancies, volumetric errors, and imbalances.





· Support audits and ensure alignment with internal controls requirements

Analysis & Collaboration

· Work with Operations to validate production trends, losses, and variances.

· Partner with Marketing and Accounting on sales volumes, shrinkage, and measurement issues.

· Collaborate with Joint Venture Accounting on partner volumes, allocations, and disputes.

· Provide monthly production commentary and variance explanations to management.

Systems & Data Management

· Utilize production accounting software

· Maintain accurate documentation, workflows, and data integrity.

Qualifications

- University level Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 5 years of production accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Metrix, Qbyte PA, Petrotranz, Petrinex ProdMan, EnergyLink).
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Position Details

Duration: Full Time

Hours: 40 hours/ week, 5days per week

Pay: $105,000 - $117,000 per year

Work Location: In-person required
