Kootenay Industries is looking for an apprentice welder for day shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of material grades.
- Working with both stainless and carbon steel
- Cutting and beveling pipe
- Cutting structural steels
- Cutting and preparing internal components for vessels
- Building structural supports for skids
- Set vessels and equipment on skid
- Layout and Fabrication of supports and internal components
- Layout, set and weld supports onto skid packages
- Use of overhead crane
- Use of forklift
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Participate in safety and company programs
- Follow work practices and procedures
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIANCE
- Active apprenticeship
- Bandsaw/ chop saw
- Operate a grinder/ drill
- Oxy acetylene torch
- Plasma torch
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
