About the Role

We are looking for a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will support educators in creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and develop.

What you’ll be doing

- Supporting the educator with the daily classroom routine, activities, and learning programs
- Supervising children during indoor and outdoor play
- Helping children with meals, snacks, dressing, washroom routines, nap time, and transitions
- Preparing and setting up age-appropriate activities such as stories, songs, crafts, and other hands-on activities
- Encouraging children to participate, explore, and interact with one another
- Helping children develop their social skills, confidence, and independence through everyday activities and play
- Building positive relationships with children and communicating respectfully with families and staff
- Observing children's behaviour, interests, and development and sharing observations with the classroom educator
- Keeping the classroom, toys, equipment, and activity areas clean, organized, and safe
- Assisting with basic housekeeping duties and preparing or serving snacks when needed
- Helping arrange the classroom and furniture for meals, rest periods, activities, and other parts of the daily routine




- Attending staff meetings and communicating with the team about children's progress, needs, and any concerns
- Assisting educators with maintaining classroom records and documentation when needed
- Following the centre's health, safety, and supervision procedures
- Working together with the teaching team to make sure the children have a positive experience each day.

What we’re looking for

- Previous experience working with children is an asset
- Early Childhood Assistant education or related experience
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Patient, caring, and responsible attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Someone who is comfortable working in a busy childcare setting
- Reliable and willing to learn and take direction from the classroom educator
