SRL Contracting is a Thunder Bay-based general contracting company handling a mix of residential and commercial projects — renovations, additions, garages, and general construction work — for homeowners and business clients across Northwestern Ontario. We're a hands-on crew that values reliability, craftsmanship, and getting the details right.

About the Role

We're looking for experienced apprentice Carpenters as well as certified journeypersons to join our crew. You'll work across a variety of residential and commercial jobs, from framing and finishing to renovations and repairs, with the chance to take on more responsibility and grow with the company.

What You'll Do

- Frame, build, and finish residential and commercial structures, including additions, garages, decks, and renovations
- Read and work from blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
- Measure, cut, and install building materials to a high standard of accuracy and finish
- Work safely on job sites, following WHMIS and Ontario construction safety standards
- Collaborate with the crew, subtrades, and site supervisors to keep projects on schedule
- Maintain and use hand and power tools properly, and help keep job sites organized and clean





What We're Looking For

Required:

- Experienced apprentice Carpenter or certified journeyperson with hands-on experience on residential and/or commercial job sites
- Comfortable reading basic blueprints and following project specifications
- Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools
- Physically able to perform manual labour, including lifting, standing, and working at heights
- Valid G driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Thunder Bay
- Robust work ethic and ability to work well as part of a crew

Preferred:

- Own vehicle for reliable transportation to job sites across Thunder Bay and the surrounding area
- Red Seal certification (for journeyperson candidates)
- Own set of basic carpentry hand tools
- Working at Heights, WHMIS, and/or First Aid certification
- Previous experience with renovation or commercial construction work
