JOB OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Analyst responsibilities include prioritizing user requirements, overseeing system upgrades and researching new tools. They should be highly analytical and able to understand business needs. Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities are essential. Must have hands-on experience with current IT systems and the ability to coach, train and educate end users as required. Responsible for maintaining the overall technology and ensuring continual use and operation. To be a visionary and work collaboratively with supporting departments to develop solutions and operational efficiencies.
WHAT AN IT ANALYST DOES:
- Plans and manages value-added Warehouse Operations.
- Communicates with stakeholders to understand their requirements.
- Develops and analyzes functional specifications.
- Designs efficient IT systems to meet business and technology needs.
- Coordinates developers to build and implement technology solutions.
- Integrates multiple systems and reconciles needs of different teams.
- Gathers feedback from end users about system performance and recommends improvements.
- Plans and oversees projects (e.g., upgrades, hardware/software installations, customer integrations, onboarding / off boarding of new team members).
- Provides advice and technical training.
- Keeps abreast of technology trends and development.
- Contributes to goal setting and key objectives within the business plan.
- Develops and installs procedures and controls measures to promote communication and adequate information flow.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
- Minimum five (5) years previous experience as an Information Technology support role.
- Familiar with Health & Safety, including Dangerous Goods.
- Possess working knowledge of warehouse operating systems enough to direct efficiency and recommend system improvements.
- Business and financial acumen including strong ability to input, retrieve and analyze financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal business communication skills for communicating with customers/vendors and company representatives.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners and customers.
- Process driven with high attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service attitude with the internal customer, i.e., employees and ability to support customer needs effectively.
- Excellent planning and resource allocation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability and eagerness to accept new tasks and follow-through independently with minimal supervision.
- Keen ability to assess situations, perform root cause analysis, and provide solutions.
- Effective time management – ability to manage self, time and priorities.
